Rental Program

Acoustic Outfitters Music Shop features a full-service stringed instrument rental program. All of our rentals are shop-tuned and inspected to ensure they are in excellent playable condition at the time of rental.

Our program is designed to be simple and easy. To begin renting, customers must pay a deposit and the first three months of rent. This amount varies depending on the type of instrument rented. All outfits include the instrument, case, bow and rosin.

We feature the Cremona line of stringed instruments. Over the past 15 years, we have tried many different student models and find this line to be affordable, durable and consistent in both tone and playability.

Rental FAQ’s

Q.  Is this a rent-to own program?
A.  We do not offer a traditional rent-to-own program. Most programs generate a profit by marking up the retail price of the instrument, which we do not do. Instead we keep the purchase price low and allow 3 months rent plus your deposit toward the purchase.

Q.  If I choose not to purchase at 3 months, what happens to the additional months of rent I pay?
A.  Additional rent does not apply to the purchase price. Should you choose to purchase in the future, your initial payment will always apply.

Q.  What happens if my child grows out of their rental?
A.  We will trade in your smaller instrument for the next size up. If sized properly, most children will be on the same instrument for close to a year.

Q.  I am considering purchasing my instrument but my child is not yet on a full size. Doesn’t it make more sense to keep renting so that I don’t have to keep buying instruments?
A.  Many families like the rental program because all repairs and maintenance are covered (except strings). Should you decide to purchase your instrument, we guarantee a trade-in value of at least 50% of the original purchase price, possibly more depending on condition.

Q. What happens if my instrument gets damaged or lost? Do you offer an insurance option?
A. Our program requires a deposit in lieu of a monthly insurance payment. However, should your instrument be damaged, lost or stolen, you are responsible for the balance remaining on your rental contract.
