Acoustic Outfitters offers music lessons for beginning to advanced students, all ages and all styles of acoustic stringed instruments. Below you will find a list of our current instructors with a brief description of each person’s musical styles and background. Links to their personal webpages are provided, if available.

RATES : $25 per ½ hour; $35 per 45min; $45 per 1 hour. Lesson fees are payable directly to the teacher. Cancellations must be made with a 24 hour notice to avoid a lesson fee.

RANDY BROWNING. Acoustic and Electric Guitar. Folk, blues, rock and most other styles. Teaches Wednesdays through Saturdays. All levels.

RICK BIENICK. Cello, Viola, Violin. Classical and pop. Teaches Wednesdays.

ELLEN CARLSON. Fiddle. Bluegrass, swing, old-time, jazz, blues, square dance and improvisation. Teaches on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  All levels.

GARY FILGATE. 5-String Banjo. Bluegrass 3-finger style. Teaches on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. All levels.

BOB HALPERIN. Fingerstyle Blues Guitar. Teaches on Mondays. Intermediate to advanced.

ALISON MAGILL. Violin, Viola. All musical styles, all ages. Teaches Mondays and Wednesdays. Beginning to intermediate.

LINCOLN MEYERS. Guitar, Mandolin. Bluegrass, Swing & Flatpick styles. Inquire about schedule. All levels.

STEVE ROY.  Upright and Electric Bass, Mandolin. Bluegrass, Jazz, Folk, Classical, Rock, etc. Teaches Tuesdays and Wednesdays. All levels.

DAVID SURETTE. Guitar, Mandolin. Folk, Celtic, Blues & Bluegrass in Traditional & Contemporary styles. Teaches on Mondays. All levels.

CHARLIE STRATER. Acoustic and Electric Guitar. Rock/Blues, Bluegrass. Teaches daily. All levels.

DAVID JAMES STUART. Classical Guitar. Inquire about scheduling times.

MELISSA WATERHOUSE. Violin/Fiddle. Classical, Celtic. Teaches on Tuesdays. Beginner to intermediate, all ages.
