Peter Janson. Considered a “gifted acoustic fingerstyle guitar player” (Dirty Linen), Peter Janson’s brand of American Fingerstyle music brings world-class solo guitar playing to the concert stage. Reminiscent of American Folk guitar, Celtic guitar and American Roots music, his original and compelling contemporary style is filled with artistry, superb technical mastery, and heartfelt passion. With critical acclaim such as “perfection… highly creative,” “a true artist’s soul,” and “perhaps the leading contemporary fingerstyle guitarist today” there’s no doubt he has bridged a gap bringing together the every-day music fans with the die-hard guitar fans.

He is a regular performer at guitar festivals and concerts throughout North America. His solo recordings include Firelight Moonlight, Winter Gifts, Across the Bridge, Sometimes From Here, and most recently Compass Rose.
Teja Gerkin. Weaving together influences of folk, jazz, classical, and world music into a style that is uniquely his own, Teja’s playing reflects his diverse musical interests. While many of his composition employ alternate tunings, two-handed tapping, percussive effects, and other extended guitar techniques, others simply rely on his keen sense of melody and movement. Within this framework, Teja has created a repertoire that appeals to fellow guitarists as well as to listening audiences, and while original material is his main focus, he can also be found playing Irish traditionals, the occasional jazz standard, or improvising on themes by classical composers.
Flatpickin’ Guitar Workshop

Thursday December 3, 7:00 – 9:00 pm.

John has played with some of the top names in bluegrass from Doyle Lawson to Charlie Sizemore to J.D. Crowe. In addition, John will cover types of percussive rhythm, how to play to a vocalist and determining when to play more aggressivly and when to lay back in the pocket.

This is a hands on workshop – BYO guitar. Call to register; $20 per person.
